We are thrilled to announce our 2018 Leader Forum locations, dates and registration links!

Our theme for this year is Experiments in Innovation. We’ll discuss, test and try successes and nonfindings (research fails) in innovation through real-world case studies and projects presented by experts in the field. Experiments in Innovation grew from our Member Summit in October, 2018, when we explored Innovation + IMPACT. The summit welcomed our first ever round of Catalyst Fund recipients, who presented their projects, all of which are innovative and promising for the field as a whole. During the discussion, we heard a lot of feedback from you, our members, regarding innovation. We know that innovative ideas are thriving at your institutions, but forming those ideas into real-world projects and programs can be a challenge. Plus, even if they make it to the project step, the results may not be what you anticipated. Our goal this year is to learn about how innovation happens at your organization, and how to learn from it so that we can better foster and identify innovative ideas moving forward.

What are the Leaders Forums?
The Leaders Forums are small, in-person gatherings across the US, Canada and soon the globe, to discuss, explore and workshop ideas, problems and potential solutions that might be funded. Experts from the LYRASIS team and from the LYRASIS membership bring new concepts, trends and ideas to be considered and discussed.

Over the last year and a half, LYRASIS has hosted 18 Leaders Forums, regional in-person meetings pulling together a diverse cross section of thought leaders to discuss, dissect and focus on cross-functional opportunities. These sessions have become the ideas factory for our Leaders Circle and help us identify the needs, challenges and opportunities you face on a daily basis.

What happens at a Forum?
The format will be 9am-3pm face-to-face meeting limited to about 30-35 local leaders from archives, museums and libraries. The day will be broken into 40-50 minutes sessions and include presentations on real, on innovative projects and programs by participants and experts as well as brief overviews by senior LYRASIS staff on the state of the community as we see it. And then the fun begins, with an engaging, fast-paced conversation among all the attendees.

Who should attend?
Key influencers, movers & shakers, senior leaders in archives, libraries and museums. LYRASIS Leader Circle Members are encouraged to attend along with local archivist, librarians and museum staff in each Forum city. You do not have to be a LYRASIS Member to attend.
