Considering joining LYRASIS? LYRASIS more than 1100 member libraries and 3000 users, 80 vendor partners and 50 experienced staff ready to support you and your organization. In this community, you will meet highly driven advocates for archives, libraries and museums from small to large, from all over the world. We have many programs, products and services to select from based on your current needs.
Classes & Consulting
Last year, our instructors conducted 313 hours of classes. On average our classes are 2-4 hours in duration. 2780 members and nonmembers attended our online and face-to-face courses. Additionally, if you are interested in an online course but cannot attend on the day of class, you might want to go ahead and register. The online sessions are recorded and you will have access to the instructor and materials!
Membership Outreach & Site Visits
Each region in the US has their very own LYRASIS staff dedicated to services and ready to visit your organization and meet with you in your own setting! Last year, the Membership Outreach staff visited nearly 200 member archives, libraries and museums. With each visit, we hear from you and your staff about projects and priorities and take a look at how LYRASIS and our services match your needs. Would you like us to visit? Request a visit.
Leaders Forums
Last year, we held 12 face-to-face meetings in 12 locations and met over 200 leaders within our membership. We are planning 6-8 Forums this year where we can meet with you to talk about trends and cutting edge solutions. Stay tuned for new dates and locations for 2017.
Member Summit
In October, more than 100 members and staff met to discuss the LYRASIS community, Leaders Circle, Workflows, Open Source, Open Access and more. We celebrated the LYRASIS membership and achievements. We plan on hosting another Member Summit in 2017. A save the date will be announced shortly.

Digitization Collaborative
The Digitization Collaborative is just one of the many ways to work with LYRASIS on cost-effective digitization for collections, ranging from bound books and newspapers to archival materials, manuscripts, photographs, maps, microfiche and microfilm to audio, video and film to other large-format, loose materials.
Preservation Services
Supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Division of Preservation and Access, LYRASIS Preservation Services is a source for libraries, archives, and other cultural heritage organizations to obtain the services, information, and expert assistance they need to manage their physical and digital collections. Classes, local training, consulting, and information resources are all provided to help institutions address the long-term management of and access to collections being purchased, licensed, digitized, and created at local institutions.
LYRASIS Digital Technology & Hosted Services
LYRASIS Digital Technology Services give you solutions that are secure, sustainable, accessible, easy to use and don’t require excessive staff hours or expert technicians to maintain. We offer an array of services including open source library software, hosting services, digital repositories, archives management software, software implementation and support, and consulting.
Open Source Communities
LYRASIS Open Source supported programs feed directly back within the Open Source Communities of Islandora, ArchivesSpace and CollectionsSpace. LYRASIS program and developers work closely with the communities sharing code, documentation and participates in several committees; Islandora Foundation Board, Islandora Roundmap Committee and the ArchivesSpace Technical Advisory Committee. LYRASIS host and provides maintenance, support and content for FOSS4LIB.
Open Access Programs
In the spirit of finding and negotiating beneficial licensing terms for our members, LYRASIS is constantly seeking opportunities to develop access to important content, including open access. Support for open access programs requiring community action includes our role as US National Contact Point for the following initiatives. To date, we along with our Open Access Champions, are dedicated to SCOAP US, Independent Voices by Reveal Digital and Knowledge Unlatched, and Open Library of Humanities.
