New “Getting Started with ORCID” Video Series
The ORCID US Community has created a Getting Started with ORCID video series. These 5-10 minute videos will help you familiarize yourself with ORCID, the ORCID US Community, and next steps for ORCID adoption and implementation. These videos are aimed at new ORCID US Community consortium members, and anyone looking for a refresher on ORCID.
ORCID US Community Member Survey Results 2024
A huge thank you to those in the community for filling out the ORCID US Community Member 2024 survey. This feedback has been incredibly valuable for us, and we thank you all for your continued support. We have used these responses to guide our planned goals and activities for this year, and we look forward to continuing our journey with ORCID with you all. You can read the survey results here: ORCID US Community 2024 Member Survey Results.
DSpace & ORCID Update - Spring 2025
In February 2024, Lyrasis received an ORCID Global Participation Fund grant to improve ORCID API integration and functionality in DSpace open source repository software. Lyrasis has partnered with 4Science to implement the improvements over the course of 2024. An update on the project status and next steps can be found in our DSpace & ORCID Update call notes. Organizations that are using DSpace are asked to fill out a brief survey to help us gather more information for potential future improvements.
US RAiD Pilot
Organizations interested in ORCID may also be interested in a new Persistent Identifier (PID) to help manage and tie together information about research projects: RAiD (Research Activity Identifier). A US RAiD Pilot is currently underway in the US, led by the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) in partnership with Lyrasis, thanks to grant funding from the National Science Foundation. More information about the US RAiD Pilot can be found in our US RAiD Pilot FAQs and most recent blog post: US RAiD Pilot: Initial Stakeholders Set the Stage. Join the US RAiD listserv to stay in the loop.
