areyouamemberYou may already know that LYRASIS is dedicated to providing value to our members through savings. In fact, we have saved our members more than $400 million since 2009 through a range of budget friendly services, strategic licensing on eResources, discounts on training and digitization and more. But we’re much more than just discounted services.

Here are the 3 reasons I think you should become a member:

    1. Community. LYRASIS is home to 1200 member libraries, archives and museums. Being a member of this wonderfully rich community provides you the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of fellow members on your projects and goals as well as learn about creative solutions, projects and ideas. There is power and innovation in collaboration.
    2. Leadership. This year LYRASIS has kicked off a series of 12 dynamic regional forums with select invited members to discuss some of the most important ideas and challenges facing information and cultural heritage professionals today: topics like how to choose and deploy open source software solutions, how to ensure that unique collections are sustainable and accessible and more. Become a LYRASIS member and be a part of this conversation.
    3. Technology and Innovation. We are continuing to expand our technology and open source community supported software solutions. LYRASIS is currently home to two open source software communities and three hosted services, including ArchivesSpace, CollectionSpace and Islandora.

The LYRASIS of yesterday has a legacy of support and service; today’s LYRASIS is providing technologies, leadership and collaboration at the forefront of the biggest trends and issues facing archives, libraries and museums. I encourage you to take the time to get to know the new LYRASIS. I want your voice at the table for these new, exciting projects and I don’t want you or your institution to miss out.

My team will follow up with you on membership details. I hope you’ll consider making a small investment into your institution’s future by becoming a LYRASIS member. In the meantime, please feel free to email membership@lyrasis.org with any questions you may have.
